Visiting NYC - what places should i visit?

No, i don't mean landmarks. I'll probably visit the big ones, but i don't have that much interest in them. I mean cool places to hang out, to take a girl to. The best clubs, lounges, etc? Just cool chilling spots? I'm probably gonna be there for a few days, a week tops. Visiting a few friends, a female friend with benefits and buying a car.

hmm soho and the east village are great places to just hang out, walk around, and sit and just watch life walk by. i haven't been much out during the day lately for some obvious reasons so i don't know anymore

Since the weather is getting alot better right now, you could take a stroll in central park. (Theres an entrance to the park at 61st St. & 5th Ave.)
Just for fun you could go into FAO Sharwatz (its the coolest toy store known to mankind - 59th St. & 5th Ave.)
For fun, if your into comedy, you could go to the Comedy Cellar (West 3rd St. & MacDougal St.) or Carolines Comedy Club (Between 49th & 50th St. & Broadway) - call both places before hand and make resverations if you are interested so you know you will get in.

As for lounges and restuarants: either AIM me at Aecliptic or pm me with what kinda places you like (trendy or regular, nice decor or nothing special... I have a zagat booklet for downtown manhattan, so Ill just give you a few places to check out)

a vest? yikes. heh.

i'm partial to chinatown. it's too touristy nowadays tho. but u'll find good cheap food. little italy is separated from chinatown by little italy. so if u've got a hunkering for either, u can check those out too happy exploring in nyc.
