I wondered if anyone knew of any sites that offered free hosting with no banners, i am currently really annoyed with my geocities site, with a really annoying pop up/ add thing

So does anyone no of a site with free hosting and no banners?

i dont really know....All you need is some space on the internet...i get some from my cable company.....10 MB......maybe you can put it on someones FTP? Then you just need to register a adress somewhere......maybe cjb.net?

Some tips on the site: (if i may take it or leave it hehe)
Remove the Borders and the scrollbars.
Remove the underline on the links on the menu to the left.... The picture on the top left is not working... I think that site could be pretty cool really...and you are probably not finished so dont let this offend you

Yep thanx, the site is only 2 hours of work so far, so it is just a base, i asked people what they thought, so thanx for replying.

I will b fiddling with each thing, but at the mo i am using front page, then moving to dreamweaver, and then when i have cracked that i will be moving on to flash, so expect good things in the future.

It is mainly a learning experience for me.

So thanx for yr tips, i will try and incorporate them into my site.

Also the link was working on my other comp at my dads, and then i come home, and it is broken, prob coz at my dads it was saved in my temp files, dam.

So on thursday or saturday i will be spending a lot of time changing it.

I hope it will b good in the future, and i am changing that god awful forum, found a better free host.

The site is only available in norwegian, thought..
30 mb space.

first goto:
http://pass.start.no/registrer/

then hit the button at the top, next page, fill inn some info, and on the last page select username and password.

then go here:
http://pass.start.no/login

and activate your account for homepage-use.

ftp to ftp.start.no port21, with your chose login and username.

your webspace will be found at home.no.net/[username]

hope you can make it through..

I know at least 4 ways how to get rid of banners.

Here is one that works with 90% of cases (it is the *simplest*)

1) take your main page[index.html or main.html] from where your site is now [geocities], remove all the code that is responsible for banner insertions if it is in your page already, and then just copy and rename it somehow (no matter how)


2) register @ any hostings that give u readdressing option (the list of the hosts is below )

3) make redirection from your new location to the page u created in step 1 !!


THAT's IT!!! NO BANNERS!

Im swedish so i should be able to get trough that registration....But how can you get 30 MB wihtout payement or banners? How do they get payd for it?
