Composed a nice melody but in sounds familiar.

Hi all, after two hours of sweating I composed a
nice melody I think, but I can't help thinking it sounds familiar
I think I may have had the melody in my subconscious and worked
towards it.
Here's the mp3:
http://home.zonnet.nl/jvweeren/vaag.mp3

Do you guys recognise it?

Has this happened to some of you too?

Greetings CCPURNO

if you learn some music theory you find better ways to come up with a melody other then sitting at your keyboard for an hour only to come up with someone elses

Ok thanks for the tips..guys
I started some time ago in a music theory book,
but sometimes I just play without thinking about
theory. That can be very liberating.

I don't recognize the tune. And the melody/harmony could use some work.. but...

How did you get that nice string sound? Love it.

Well, funny you ask..
because this is my first song with
Spectrasonics Atmosphere in it!
There are some sounds like these strings
in it that are just killer!
I layered it with some choirish Atmosphere pad and
a high Vanguard arp. Also a baseline and drums:

http://home.zonnet.nl/jvweeren/layered.mp3

Do you think this sounds nice? I might have cut
back the lows to much on the Atmosphere strings....
