Upfader Replacement???

I'm having a problem with one of my upfaders on my DJX700.. it crackles like hell when i touch it. What kind of problem is this?

Do i need to get the fader replaced??
Anyone know how much it would cost??

No.

Just clean the fader space with a can of high-compressed air.

hey borron, do u mean that its just dust ? I've tried blowing it but the problem still persists.

i really hope thats all it is.. when i press on the fader sometimes the right channel has no sound. it seems to me like a a tech problem.. PLUS its a djx700, which is infamous for its crackling faders etc.

i was hammering the fader a fair bit, and suddenly this problem occured.

oh and.. the crackling only occurs when the fader is at full volume.

then keep the fader at 98% instead of 100% until it is fixed

check to see if your still under warranty, if so send it back, or you could try the compressed air method, I use it to clean my decks and mixer, and laptop and loads of other stuff for that matter, but even though its the DJX700 the faders shouldn't of gone, I got the DJX and I HAMMER the faders, I don't use the xfader anymore, so its all channels now, and I really hammer it, especially when I really get into a hard mix, and after 7 months of this or so, there still fine, so I don't think its your faders.

yeh i used the can of compressed air on the upfaders when i was having problems with my old mixer, and it worked fine after i gave it a good blast.

I usually dont have my upfaders at full volume anyway, is there any need? Theres usually a thick white line about 75% up on the fader. Of course this is all personal preference but i feel a bit strange putting it to the maximum point on the upfaders

okay i dont know howrelevant this is.. but the channel next to the channel which had the crackling faders has started doing the same thing. like the problem spreading from one channel to the next!

still searching for compressed air to no avail =( (Malaysia is a really dj-unfriendly country).

This is what I did.. i tortured one of the faders with the crackling... like tortured it like hell.. and the crackling disappeared!!

But the other fader...the newly 'infected' one, is still crackling. maybe it needs more torturing

Could someone tell me what the hell is going on. My EQ knobs used to crackle as well and then all of a sudden they stopped crackling and went back to normal. I'm not complaining, I just find this phenomena a tad bit WEIRD.

Any computer or electronics parts store should carry cans of compressed air. Sounds like a dust problem to me.
