Whats the deal with compressed air...

I've searched in every hardware, computer and multipurpose shops in the whole city and not one of them has f*ckin compressed air. This is really pissing me off.. my faders are crackling till kingdom come and i NEED compressed air!

Any alternatives? I so feel like spraying WD40!

ive read your other posts on the dead fader. i use detox-it in the past to clean my fader on my stanton mixers. Another thing is go to radio shack and there's this cleaner/spray called tunner control. that seems to work well too. I also believe the fader's premature death may not be caused by only dust but could be carbon buildup on the fader's contacts as well.

sqratchattack also has a guide for fader cleaning. most of the tips should apply to your behringer mixer as well.

Carbon build-up aye... care to elaborate?

also, the sqratchattack.com site u sent me was really informative.
Only thing is they require me to take my mixer's faders apart and i'm a bit afraid to do so as the faders on the djx700 do not have a separate panel of their own, meaning i'll have to take the whole top off.

usually after a while of use dust builds up on the track on the circuit board along w/ carbon from the fader itself. The reason why the faders leave deposits of junk is many of them use graphite to make contact w/ the circuit board. Graphite conducts electricity and can act as a lubercant at the same time but like a pencil it can rub off onto the fader's track causing higher resistance over time and thus make the fader crack and pop. Hopefully someone else here will have more knowledge on fader cleaning on behringer mixers and can elaborate better than i can. But i would consider getting a can of calilube MCL for cleaning and lubing your faders. (with alot of mixers it's common to have to clean the faders from time to time.)

Open it up and dowse it in WD40, sometimes my AMPs knobs go a bit fucked, I open it up insert the WD40 and spray away. Not too libraly though, just spray it on the open contacts and wiggle it a bit, wipe off excess from the edges after leaving it on for a min or two. SHOULD work perfectly again.

(I accept no liabilty if you get WD40 on something else and it mucks the mixer up )

Still no luck finding it.. all the f*ckers here havent even heard of compressed air. I'll actually have to get someone to buy it from overseas. Radio Shack closed down here 10 years ago.. so there goes my last hope
