Pioneer 500 help

Ok about 4 weeks ago I finally picked up my own set. I got 2 Technics 1200's MK3's and a pioneer DJM-500. Now Latley I have been hearing rumors that the Tech 1200 mks's have a problem with the power source causing minor fluxuations in the pitch. On the Pioneer's BPM counter it says that the BPM is fluxuating by about 0.3 to 0.5. I believe thats just how the records are pressed but I just want to make sure that the fluxuations arnt being caused by this mysterious power source problem on the MK3's. So now the question: For all you pioneer owners does the BPM slightly fluxuate on your mixer?

beat counters are hardly accurate and will never give you the true accurate measure of the bpm. if you really need to use them - put it on 'average' and it wont fluctuate as much. trust me, if it was fluctuating .3 bpm you would notice as it is a fair bit

Thanks.

Ya i sort of figured it wouldnt be dead on. I never actually use the BPM counter as that would just dull my skills but I just wanted to make sure it wasnt the tables

i recently got a vestax, i had a djm-300 which had bpms.
they just caused problems, because they would jump up to 4 bpm in a song whenever the melody would change.

whenever I relied on them i actually messed up my mix.

and i have the mk3's and don't have much problem. if you wanna check it out. put it on standard lock, and stare at the red balls light by the strobe. u will notice they dont move at all -- so i dont think its the deck

I've got a DJM 500 and 2 technics SL1200 MK2 and I never see the bpm counter fluctuating in the same part of a song, sure it can change in a break... with the change of the bpm !!! I never use it at all and I have a friend who also has the same turntables and he doesn't have any such problems too !! So look further for your problem ... Thanks !

DON'T EVEN WORRY ABOUT IT.

It's gonna fluctuate by .2 to .5 here and there.

can't you test it out, take two records, match them up perfectly and if there on then your STRAIGHT, the bpm reading will still fluctuate.
