I usually have no problems getting guitar center to match prices, but now I know people there and they just give me the lowest price they can. Very easy to deal with them.

dont get the dj-s.... it sounds really weird when ur spinning electronic music...... at least to me it did. u should get the dj-e or some whitelabels mang!

Is there that big a difference between the DJ-S and the Whitelabels? I haven't heard the whitelabels myself yet but the Dj-S are definitely impressive. They are a bit bass heavy tho

yea.. the concorde dj-s is made more specifically for scratching... hence the S. the dj-e is elliptically shaped for better sound production while mixing. yea.. when i had the dj-s for a short period of time, the bass seems ultra heavy and they give a thick soudn especially when your scratching or cueing or something. i have the whitelabels rite now and its very crisp and clear sound, it makes all the levels sound just how you would expect it for electronic music. also. even when i turn it very loud, there seems to be little distortion of sound at all. i mean... a lot of people use the ortofon concorde dj-e, concorde nightclub-e, and the shure whitelabels. cant really go wrong with either of those three. (i just like whitelabels better cuz of sound quality and almost everything of mine is white and blue. including the photons i rave with.. haha)

S is for spherical, not scratching. Also, I don't see why the needle would matter when your seeing if you get distortion at loud volumes. Anyway, I stick with spherical needles as I like to do some scratching every once in a while, and they are cheaper.

yea... i know "s" stands for spherical... i was just telling him that spherical needles are used more for scratching rather than mixing.... in case you couldn't understand that from the general context of my post

My OM's were about $90 each.

Concorde DJ-S usually run around $120.

Not a bad deal, I'd say.

Definitely, the guy hooked up me for 100 bucks a needle but I still wouldn't mind saving another 20 bucks

What about the nightclubs? Isn't the difference between the DJ-S and the Nightclubs quite small?

I was also thinking I could just buy Nightclub styli in the future even tho the blue/ yellow color combo looks a bit funny

basically.... the difference betweeen all concorde and even the om style ortofons are the stylus. i'm pretty sure almost all of the ortofon stylus's are interchangeable. so basically... even if you get the dj-s right now... later on you can get the stylus for the nightclubs and put it on the dj-s cartridge. the colors may not match.. but it would definitely work.

It seems that the DJ-S ortofons seem to lack clarity and crispness in the high range when I compare them to my Stanton 500 ALII.I am now feeling tempted to pick up a Shure Whitelabel to see how it sounds compared to the Ortofon DJ-S
