Technics SL-1200mkII/m3d are the best TT's and the Industry standard.
Vestax also make some very good TT's (some ppl think they're better than 1200's).
All the good TT's are at least 400$, but you can get a pair of second hand 1200's for about 600$...

Vinyl sells for about 10$-15$...

There is no such thing. After alot of research on my part into this whole debate of 'which turntables', the Technic 1200 series really are the best answer for Djing. There's the technical info, and widespread use of these decks in 95% of all clubs/parties to support this.

Cheaper turntables can be a waste of money if you plan on going anywhere w/Djing (then again, not everyone has money to blow- and still arent sure if Djing is something they really wanna do). For beginners, I have read about several people who having the experience of buying cheaper decks & using those to get aquainted with Djing. HOWEVER, 99% of those people ended up selling (or puttin' em in the closet) those decks a mere few months later and getting quality gear (prodominantly the Technics) because they've exhausted what's possible with the cheap decks.

And, as for your last question about the Gemini XL-100. do NOT get those, they're a waste of time. belt driven, cheap build, they will frustrate you badly from even the looks of it.

note: there are other decks considered high quality & 'up there' with the technics, like ones manufactured by Vestax & Stanton (which can also be slightly cheaper)... but my research almost always leads to getting technics anyway.

But the thing is , i don't want to dj , i just want to listen to vinyls on it ... is it ok for XL-100 ?

i was looking for a turntable just to play vynals on! is a cheap alternative alright for that or would it be better for something more 'standard'? just to purely play the record and maybe to also fuck around with the pitch or scratch?

How about just buying a normal record player, to go with your hifi?

You can get very good ones, it'll save you money, they just won't have pitch control.

If you buy a Hi-fi TT you won't be able to change the pitch & scratch, so just get some cheapo second hand thing. Doesn't matter if it's belt driven, just get a good cartridge so you get good sound quality.
