Gouryella - Ligaya (Fabio Stein's Rebirth Of Life Mix)
First of all, hello to everyone! This is my first post here on tranceaddict.com . I'm from São Paulo, Brazil...
Anyway, I want to show you my remix to one of my favourite tracks of 2002: Gouryella - Ligaya.
I wanted to add a tech beat with an off-beat bass-line. I arranged a different breakdown, similar to what Marco V has done to Café Del Mar's breakdown. A good alternative if you want a "crispier" version of Ligaya!
quite nice, even though it never quite takes off to the full swing of Ligaya.

Thank you! And I totally agree with you about the original. I've remixed it because I don't like the eqing (too low, where's the mid???) and the beat on the original, I wanted to make a version concerning on this 2 elements.

Fabio Stein,
These comments were written as I listen to the song for the first time:
Right away I love the percussion in the beginning.
Shit mate, this beat is sick. I want to dance to this right now!
Eh, but perhaps you should change the simple bassline.
The melody around 2:30 -3:10: perhaps you should stretch the melody out a bit. Im not sure the problem but maybe to much compression?
Once the meldoy come in around 4:30, a lot sounds missing. You got the chords down right. Maybe its how you chopped the meldoy? I dont know. Sounds a little empty. Could be the tempo or the quality of the download. Not sure. Actually adding some delay might make it sound a bit fuller.
Well the song finished. Over all Id say this is a pretty good mix. Could definitely still use more attention though to make it a great remix. Although, to be brutally honest, I didnt really get excited listening to this. EXCEPT for the sick perceussion.
If I were you I would save th percussion and use it in an original song. Good job over all though!
I look forward to seeing what else youll be coming up with in the future.
Good luck!!

Well, I made the beat inspired in Marco V and also from a little help from my old-skool hardcore influences...
I always hated to use non off-beat bass lines in my trance productions because I never liked the result. But then I figured out my way to blend bassline and kick and now everything is good!
About the melody... I think if I correct the melody everything gets fatter... the thing is that I don't decent monitor speakers...
