Arrow Jayl - Caveman (send this off to labels or no?)

Hey guys... it's been a while since I posted a track here on TA... well after a month of hard work, I've finally managed to pump out a tune... I've got a bit more of finalizing the mastering but for the most part, I'm about finished with this track.

It would be great if you guys could take a listen and give me some feedback on it... The full-length is 11:39 long BTW... This is just a sample(it's in 96 kbs, sorry )

Jayl - Caveman (sample)

Jayl - Caveman (Longer Sample)

Also, if you would like to do a remix, pm me...

Coming soon... in a bit... a Haak-Frenzy remix!

EDIT: added another sample

Listening
I like the strings, cant hear the bass though (or is it that reso thingy?). This is a pretty good track, cant comment on the sound quality as it is a 96 v. The main lead is way out of my taste, a softer synth would be alot better imo. Anyway, overall its good , the only thing that boderd me is that screamylead. About the labels, i would give it a try if i were you.

Cheers, good luck with it.

Now it sounds alot better,i like the perc and the dark vibe the track has, i take back the synth-comment, it was a quality issue.

Awesome stuff man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That was seriously one of the best tracks i have heard in weeks, if not months.
I loved it!

Here is my review:

The track's beginning is solid, i like the darker, badass sound you've got going there. The pounding bass drum is quite powerful, it drives the track really well. I am feeling the energy of this track right from the start.

I like that little bit of filtering (or whatever you call it) around 1:00.

Then the melody is slowly introduced, it sounds evil as hell! i <3 it
The bass is driving along, as well as that melody, and it combines really well.

Track keeps progressing nicely.....

Then around 4:00, the breakdown comes. Very nice, i have always liked those ambient "space noises" , as well as the little melody in the background. The track is building and building, definitely does well at creating a bit of intensity in the track. However, on around the third/fourth listen, i noticed that when the drum slowly comes back in, it sounds a little bit weak....i'm talking about the other drum, not the snare. Maybe you could just make it a bit harder?

5:40 the main melody part kicks in, the sound of this seems a bit off, i don't know how you can fix it up, but it needs a little bit of work because it is a bit hard on the ears. The actual notes/melody is fine, it just seems like you need to make it so it sound smoother and less harsh. This is probably my only complaint for the track. It seems like there is a big drop in the sound quality of the song here! I don't know if it's just the sample, but from about 5:40 on it is very noticeable!

It just seems like it is a bit unfinished here, that's all.

Basically, i wouldn't change the structure of the track or anything really. The ending is good as well. You just need to attend to the little details, the mastering or whatever it is (I don't know what it is called)

Overall, i thought the track was awesome. Very badass sound!

You just need to improve from about 5:40 on with the sound quality.....

Keep up the good work man!!!

P.S. Can anyone tell me what genre this is? I haven't heard many tracks like it, but it definitely got my attention.
P.P.S. I disagree with some other comments people have made about the synth. I think it is one of the best parts of the song. Keep it.

Vigilante.. thx for your awesome response... One of the longest reviews I've gotten... and let me just say that I REALLY appreciate it!!!

I'll look in the 'quality drop' as you mentioned... It was always bothering me quite a bit and I think the main problem is a poor mixing job as well as some overcompression in the main synth...

thanks mate!
