What is the best music player and best video player?
Music Players:
-Winamp
-RealJukebox
-Creative Mediasource (For those of you who own a Creative sound card)
-Windows Media Player 9
-others that I did not name
Video:
-DivX
-Winamp
-Windows Media Player 9
-others that I did not name
What's good?
I'm currently using Winamp to play audio and video(avi's), DivX to play mp4's, and Creative Mediasource to rip cd's.

i use Zoom player for my video. It's compatible with just about everything except RealMedia. It also allows for cue sheets, audio selections, subtitles. well, at least a lot easier than with Windows Media Player.
Audio: Winamp

I like Winamp because:
Winamp has nice visualizations and a nice fader effect when you pause/stop songs.
It also has a nice feature that tells you about the bitrate, mono/stero, and equalizer bars that go up and down when you listen to the music.
Few other audio players offer this right?

Winamp and Video Lan Cone. I especially like the customization offered by both apps, they give you control over aspects other media players don't let you even touch. I particularly like VLC's real-time image adjustment so I can change hue, contrast, brightness, saturation, and gamma.
