I would really like someone to explain to me why it is so bad to do "over the top promoting" of Amateur DJs, some of which are dedicated members of this very forum. I have never, ever seen a thread closed that promoted the work of another artist; this was not a cheesy thread promoting trancesphere, they were all posts supporting artists. Many of these DJs have never been heard on the air before and appreciate seeing such good things written about them for the first time in their lives.

I am very, very upset with the admins of TranceAddict and torontotrance in particular, however, I am even more interested in getting a legitimate explanation at why this was considered necessary. There have been bigger threads before, with a massive amount of posts noting how much people enjoyed sets or shows that are listed in the tracklisting area. It isnt like the show was over so nobody would want to post anymore, there is a replay coming up, download information needed, and maybe some people didnt get to post for their favorite yet. I understand there are other forums, none of which have closed my thread. I encourage all of our listeners to use these other forums, which I will not mention, that do NOT restrict the opinions of its members.

If anyone does not know what I am talking about, I apoligize for not explaining myself earlier. My show, Rising Stars, was created for "unknown" DJs to get their set played on TranceSphere Radio. I work very, very hard to make sure each DJ gets a personalized introduction on the air, and a short biography posted along with their tracklist. I spend countless hours listening to sets and selecting the DJs for the month, not to mention gathering up all the sets and forming the show. Yes, I do over the top promotion for these DJs because I feel they deserve it. There is so much talent out there that people do not know about, and I would be honored if this show would open some doors for people.

I don't think I am being unrealistic either, yesterday's show (combined with ETS-Global) had between 400-500 listeners at any given time. Point being: the show was working, DJs were getting some exposure to listeners, and listeners were enjoying the new sounds of some previously unknown DJs. So please help me to understand why this is considered so bad that my thread needed locked.

Yeah.... After looking at the first thread, I agree that was VERY lame. I mean, Rising Stars promotes up and coming DJ's, and you fucking closed the thread??? 90% of the dj's were from TA too, which makes it look even more retarded.

I think the admins need to chill and stop being so anal.

agreed, there's absolutely no justifiable reason for the thread being closed...

considering how littered full of spam, flaming, idiocy, and powerposting (+1) bullshit these forums are, it's ironic that a perfectly constructive, innocent thread concerning nothing but music gets locked. Ryne has done a shitload of work getting the event organized, as well as all the DJ's, and we both deserve better than that...

I would understand if there was multiple threads for the same topic but as there is only the one i agree that the locking of the thread was by no means required.

All of us DJ's need the promotion & feedback to climb our way up the ladder and tranceaddict seems to be one of the best communitties to help us achieve this.

Has there been a change in policy at TA?

As you can clearly see, the closed post was in the tracklist section, NOT in the promotion section hence the lock was fully justified. And this thread, well, this is just useless whining. And in the wrong forum as well.

I am very sorry but I do not feel it would be appropriate to bring this into a PM conversation. Maybe because I have not slept in two days, because of this show, but I feel that the listeners of the show and the DJs who participated in the event deserve to see a reason, in print, why their thread was closed. I can not post download information about their sets, I can not make a post about the winner of fan favorite, and the listeners can no longer make posts congratulating the hard work of the DJs. Especially if someone did not catch the first show but is free to hear the replay, I would think they should be allowed to post their comments about the show. As apparant by the reponse of other TA community members, I am not alone in my disappointment of torontotrance's decision to close it.


edit: and if I am banned without being given proper response in this thread, I feel that would be more proof of wrongdoing, I am eagerly awating a response.
