I'd do a a simple search, as there's so much information about the Tech's on these forums.

Short answer:
Techs are known for their awsome reliablity, have a great resale value, are the industry standard, have all the torque you need, and don't have all sorts of extra shit.

I'm sure someone else will tell you more about the alternatives

I've been reading up on the forums on the same topic...man if you have the money...get the Techs. Everyone is raving about them and for a good reason! Although personally...I am a broke ass...heheh I am going for numarks to start off with :P BUT JUST TO START OFF WITH AND MAKE SURE THAT I TRULY WILL LOVE WHAT I AM DOING. Although it seems like i definitely will.

OK im a tech freak, i own them and love them. However, numark ttx-1 are a serious contender. If your gonna just do mixing then go w/ techs, if you want to scratch and do weird stuff than at least play w/ the numarks.

If you go with Techs, I recommend not getting the Mk2s. I have them and and love them, but the pitch lock notch at 0 sucks. All the newer ones don't have it.

one of the reason why im having trouble on deciding is because for a cheaper price...the ttx offers more torque...display(shows pitch change...and bpm counter)...dont feel like listing it all but it offers more than techs for a cheaper price...however i do know that if i go with the techs i wont regret it....any comments tho on how the TTX offers more?

Well here is my problem. Everything about the TTX1 is great except for ONE THING. The digital pitch adjust is terrible. You need analog pitch adjust to have tracks right on when beatmatching (and to stay right on). I loved the TTX1s for a while, but the digital pitch adjust just doesn't cut it. Get the techs, nothing else about the TTX1s makes enough of a difference to make up for the digital pitch adjust.
