Introduction to trance

What was the first set (or song) that you can recall that really introduced you to trance? I couldn't have been more lucky, I remember the day I downloaded my first set (on a 56k connection) it was DJ Tiesto - Live at Trance Energy 2000. I don't think I could have picked a better file to have downloaded, it changed the next 4 years of my life, and will probobly even more.

Bought Ray Munns - Ray's House after I saw the commercial with Castles In The Sky in it. Then State Of Trance, then Trance Nation (mixed by ATB & Acosta), DJ Dan - In stereo, Keoki - Ego Trip. All in about a month.

I can't remember... the track that really kicked my ass into psy was Albibeno by Infected mushroom, though.

I can't remember, really. There were several tracks that really got me interested in finding more electronica.

However, the one set that hooked me on trance permanently was Paul Van Dyk's Essential Mix live at Columbiahalle. That show pwned me.

Well, for me I would say it was either the X-Mix Volume 1 - The MFS Trip mixed by Paul Van Dyk (released in 1992/1993) or Trancemaster Volume 4 (1993).

Some of the most beautiful trance-tracks of all time was featured on those two CDs and they really opened my eyes to trance.

Then, when for the first time heard Jones & Stephenson's First Rebirth in 1993 I knew I no longer had any choice. I was hooked for life

There was a Hungarian guy in Florida, around the age of 40, and all he listened to was Trance. All he had was a Dodge Neon, no house, nada! But he had a very nice collection of trance cds, mostly Ministry of Sound. The first one I listened to was the Trance Nation mixed by ATB & Acosta After having listened to that, I copied about 50 of his cds. Still listen to some of those classics...
