use to own mdr-v500 for 2years straight. Not bad, way more durable than the v700s. I actually gave them to my father for use while at work (postal worker at the mail facility) and surprisingly they lasted a full 2 more months of his abuse. Anyways there's still way better phones' than those for the $$$
Here's some of my favorite headphones not in any particular order, my favorite two that i own are the hd-280, and the rpdj1200
Top 5:
1. Sennheiser hd-280pro (sound great after break in, best isolation, however the headband will crack)
2. Sony mdr-v6, mdr-7506 (studio standard, great sound, classic design)
3. Pioneer hdj-1000 (looks sweet, great bass response for large clubs)
4. Technics rp-dj1200 (great for most parties, unique swing arm, smaller design for smaller parties)
5. Sennheiser HD-25 (amazing sound quality, good isolation, just great headphones except pricy)

Thanks for the info.
Been looking into the Sony MDR-v6/MDR 7506. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find anywhere in the U.K where they sell them - I've tried all the major places online. Anyone know of anywhere? Thought they might only be available in the U.S..
One other thing, do the mdr-v6/mdr 7506's have good sound isolation?

I think you're correct, they might only be available in US, guessing that's the reason why we ship so many pairs to UK, Holland, Germany, Italy, and etc...
Cheers...

I'd get the HD280's.. I havent heard many reports of the headband cracking, and Sennheiser has a KICKASS warantee and repair program (MUCH better than the one Sony has for *most* of their headphones...) I would get the HD280's, especially since you are in Europe, and they should be cheaper there.
