Perhaps lay the kick in underneath it, then drop it out for a couple bars before bringing it back in with the cymbal crash where you're currently starting the kick.
The Pryda snare at about 4:40 is overdone and everywhere--maybe try chopping up and messing with one of your other sounds might work a bit better.
Overall it's a very nice mellow track. Feels kind of like something a DJ might spin around 7am... not their last track, but maybe the third last or something, a song to calm everyone down before punching them in the face with one or two more big burners. You might want to think about some kind of soaring pad in the background to generate some more energy and interest--while the track is nice, there isn't much actual progression from one phrase of the song to the next. |
Thank you for your well-thought out and valuable response. I'll apply changes with your suggestions being considered some time in the future. It's just that I'm "sick" of my song now... too many replays and editing!
