hd-280s get my vote b/c they sound just stunning after breakin and isolate extremly well. Also you can get them at many places for under $100. My second choice on the list is the pio hdj-1000. The bad thing about them: expensive, boomy bass, can get uncomfortable, i also experienced problems w/ static feedback through the speakers when walking on carpet and touching the crome body.
Honestly i'm not impressed by any of the sony's listed. And i especially hate the v700. The two sonys i do like are: mdr-v6/7506 and the mdr-v900.

if you got $200 at least include the sony v900. Heard nothing but good things about it. Even though i listened w/ them only once they sounded very good.

Also check out the Sennheiser HD-25. Just killer sounding phones and i think you'll be pleased w/ them.

technics DJ1210 headphones are my weapon of choice at the moment..

excellent sound quality, but the fact they don't have a swivelling earcup can be annoying.

The only dj headphones in the list are the Pio HDJ-1000, Senn's HD280 and the Sony's V700! The others aren't dj headphones...

I own a Sennheiser HD25, and never owned another headphone before... i've tried the Technics RPDJ, but the senn's are superior. There are only 2 problems about them - they are extremely expensive and the cord is small. Other than that, the sound is perfect, the swivel is good, isolation is nice and confort is not bad.

I've decided not to vote here for now, because I haven't been DJing of late. But based solely on the design, the Sony MDR-CD780 and MDR-CD580 are NOT suitable for DJing at all - they're open-back, and thus don't isolate anywhere near as much as the others on the list. And the Sennheiser eH22## series can be used for DJing, but their lack of the full side-swivel and their somewhat bulky earpieces make that job a bit cumbersome. That leaves the Pioneer HDJ-1000, the Sennheiser HD280 and the Sony MDR-V700DJ. Of those the Senn 280 sounds better than the other two for listening. (The Sony MDR-CD580 and the MDR-CD780 may sound better than the Senn 280 for listening - but since they're open-back, they're unsuitable for DJing, especially in a loud club.) Hope this helps.

other than sennheisers and pioneers' i also own a pair of rp-dj1200. I really like them for spinning at most parties b/c the earcup is not as large as on the hd-280 or hdj-1000. I honestly like the way they swivel, no other headphone can do that.
