I have Technics 1210MK2 with Stanton 500.
Can anyone please tell me the ideal anti-skating and weight settings for these? I just don't want to scratch or harm any of my records... Plz help...

I don't have turntables but my friend puts his on 2.5 (both anti skate and weight).

The less weight you have on the tonearm, the better it is for your vinyl... but the more likely you are to get skips when backcueing. I have mine on about 1.5g usually, but there are a couple of my records that jump a lot and I put it up to 2.5g when mixing those.
Apparently, you should put the anti-skating on the same setting as your tonearm weight... however, I can't notice any difference between when it's on 0 and when it's on maximum .

Does your anti-skating setting affect your vinyl wear? Anybody?

I keep my tone arm weight aroudn 2.5g. As long as it doesn't skip and the sound quality doesn't decline you can really go as low as you want, but I wouldn't go much past 2.

For antiskip records wear the least if you have it set to the same number as the weight on your tone arm. This will increase the occurance of skipping when you backcue. So if it's set to be equal and it skips to much when you back cue just tweak it down a bit until it goes away. It can depend a bit on what needle you have. Some work better with higher anti-skate settings than others..
