anything other than trance is boring...anyone else feel the same?

is it just me? all i seem to like is trance, ive listened to many other dj's live sets and anything other than trance seems really boring and monotone. at creamfields yesterday i listened to part of seb fontaine's set futureshocks set and part of carl cox's set and the style i think is really repetitive and boring. even these so called dj gods like sasha, digweed and carl cox seem really boring to me. the funny thing is that when someone like sasha makes there own song it sounds really good and the same with picotto. is it just me or does anyone else feel the same way?

i agree to a degree, i think that i cant really listen to hard house, or progressive house, but i am liking, more and more, the pete tong style, funky house, or funky trance style.

But i still can listen to other genres, i love jimmy hendrix, he is a guitar god, that is probably why i like no one driving - playa sol, good guitar riff. and armand van helden - Why Can't You Free Some Time.

armand van helden - Why Can't You Free Some Time. This is my example of the more funky stuff i listen to, it is more of a break from trance, chill out stuff, i go from hard trance, to pure trance.

Trance is the best genre i think though

I named armand van helden - Why Can't You Free Some Time. coz i am listening to it now, i could have chosen a few others, like modjo - what i mean, modjo track, strange that i like it, but it is good. Also i go towards the daft punk stuff as well

In the beginning I only listened PvD.
But after a while I realized that a Carl Cox, Sven Väth or
Sasha set could be just as good.
They have different style but who cares?
The point is that you have to listen the sets many times.
At least two or three times to like them.

For example, when I listened the 1st CD of the GU019 which is
mixed by Digweed, I tought OMG what a boring mix, stupid
slow tracks.
But after listening it many times it just got better and better
and now it's one of my fav.!

LOL

I totally agree with u mate

Other music just sounds kinds "wrong" , nothing pumps me up and gets me excited like a tremendously powerful trancer!

I didn't bother going to creamfields - it looked like there was too much prog for me!

ps - guess where I live.... Leicester...

i dont really agree with this at all..

when i *first* got into the scene, all i liked was trance. house was boring (tho i still think it is), jungle was too hard and dark, etc. trance was the only beautiful and interesting techno genre for me. after awhile i became very inclined to jungle as well.. and though trance is my first love, i love jungle also... as well as uk hardhouse, and maybe the occasional other.

but in general i dont understand why some people stick *only* to techno music anyways. personally, my background is in industrial music, and i still love it. i also have been partial to forms of metal (not this new rap-rock shit, i always liked black synthy metal or random bands such as fear factory). and while i might listen to my trance or jungle 80% of the time, i still love to sit down with "alternate" forms of music for a change.

so for that reason, i definitely dont think anything other than trance is boring. it seems like it would become rather dull very quickly to ONLY like one genre of techno, and care for no other style of music whatsoever.. i just love music too much for that.

Jester TRANCE 4EVER !!

When I started to listen electronic music I was first into commercial Italo dance, but I discovered trance sound 4 years ago and I will stick to it for sure.
I also try to 'understand' progressive and I like some of the tracks but it doesn't give me so much energy than pure uplifting trance.
I think that trance will stay appealing for a while and is constantly developing> Oakey-Tiesto-PvD-MarcoV and there will always be something new. Techno is out IMO, also house is in a big recess.
Long live trance !!!!!!!

Thumbs down I dont agree

There is a ton of great music out there, trance for being on as well as other types of music. I like everything you can possibly think of. For some reason it's just that trance is what I have been listening to more often more than anything else. Although, I think that alot of other types of music besides trance are great.

Every-1 has thier own opinions and I will not hold you to this one. Although, I do not agree with you in this thread or alot of the others that you post.

Trance is the only thing that's not boring when...

compared to Euro, Freestlye. I hate that stuff. Trance puts it to shame anytime, anywhere. House, Techno, Drum N' Bass all have the good and bad which I'm sure too Trance has as well. Trance isn't perfect but just like other genres it can be awesome (when you like a song) and boring (when you don't like a song) I guess.

Totally wrong in my opinion.

House is great music (hard to spin, but great)

I really really love the new Digweed style. It's incredible.
