Oh please people please use common sense. I don't have any problems with the pictures, but she was not in public domain and she took and distributed pictures that were specifically prohibited in her job function. It doesn't matter WHAT the reasons were for her employer to forbade public disclosure of what the job entailed, she's still held liable for failing to uphold the terms of her agreement. It's as if a housekeeper were to take pictures of your house and distribute it to the public in violation of your direct orders.

Exactly, its a rule that was part of the job and she broke it. If you break rules at your job you deserve to be fired.

There isn't a problem with the photos or with censorship, its just a rule and we all have rules, yes EVEN from the government.

Well that's the whole point man! The existance of these rules is the problem. I remember when the cadavers of Hussein's sons were all over TV and newspapers. And that was ok even though it was really gruesome.

But put some caskets filled with the bodies of Americans and it's a nono.

It's a new kind of authoritarianism. Hah is authoritarianism even a word?

Why does there always have to be some hidden agenda, why can't it just be like they said that out of respect for the families and to protect the location they created the rule?

Heres another rule that I got caught in with photos. I had a video and photography class in college. For footage we wanted to get people walking in a mall. We brought our cameras in the mall to shoot the people and in minutes were rushed by security and escorted off the property. The rule is that no business can be photographed without their written permission in a private place. Therefore I had to abide by the rules and leave the property. Well you see on the news they take pictures of malls and do news reports from them all the time so why can't I? Well its part of the rules and the rules say I can get arrested for it, because I can use the footage possibly in a demeaning manner to the store. Its private property just like that aircraft was for that woman and whoever owns the property can see fit to make any rules they want.
