it went surprisingly well, I thought. its a whole new experience to play in a club, so the first couple mixes were a little shady but nothing to bad. then after I got used to the sound, all the mixes went real smooth. played some newer ones towards the beginning then gave em a blast from the past with some older cyber style trance. Actually for a SD crowd with so many house and techno heads i still managed to have several people dancing early on, considering it was an opening slot. and I managed to attract some promoter's attention luckily and it looks like i should be doing another full on trance gig some time in May down here in SD. Got a whole new crate full of '04 records that have yet to be played out.
So things are looking on the up and up for now. Hope to someday throw a full throttle trancEaddict party though, and just blow the minds out of these monotoneous SD heads. Still an idea though, I have a few friends who would be willing to land some support, and someday get this idea in motion. Just need to find some real Trance Heads to come play, locally I mean. but it would be great to book some International headliners, but I want this to sort of be a non profit party. sort of an equal effort by all trance djs to show their continuing support of a genre that is seeming to find its way back into the clubs of SoCal. Even if its not as big as I want it to be I think that with the right promoting and proper planning it should still attract a crowd. A crowd that is also dedicated to this type of music. A crowd who can go to a party to hear new djs from their hometown and not have to go all the way up to LA to hear the same "trance djs" evry single time. SOMETHING DIFFERENT FOR A CHANGE!
I dont know... but i do know that people will dream, and its up to you to follow your dreams.
