How do you stop from turning out like your parents??? Is it just a phase where you think you are like them but never really are??? How do you escape??????

Hehe, I was thinkin about that myself, not too long ago. The way I see it, is if I hate them enough, I won't turn out like them. But, then again, what's the problem with yer parents?

Theres a saying.." The apple never falls far from the tree" That means that no matter what you do you will always reflect onto your parents. Im 18, and sometimes i just cant stand having my parents around me. They're so annoying lol but i love em and everyone i meet tells me im just like my father and we look alot alike. I really dont like hearing that too much cause thats the first thing i hear all the time but they are your parents , your role models no matter what you say. If they are good people, then you will be good too. The best thing to do is try not to think about it. Create your own path. When you think about it too much then thats how its gonna turn out and eventually you'll be a carbon copy of your mom or dad.
Well... depends how u parents are u know.
Mine , she does stick in my business alot but u know what... its not that bad , u get some advise outta it.
It might be a headache sometimes but long at it on a long term relation with ur parents , maybe u should listen to them even if theyr wrong sometimes . afterall they'r ur parents and they gonna die and stop bugging u someday!
Peace!

I'm lucky that I was the last of a LARGE family.
I love my parents, but I had to move across the country to get them out of my life. Parents just love you sooo much that they never want to let go. It's sweet for me, cause my mom checks up on me alomost everyday, like I'm 16 again. I'm 25 and I grew into being 16 again to my mom.
Just love your mom for caring, cause your faminly are the only ones that will be forever loyal. I learn that the hard way. She means well.

I think it's true..no matter what you do, you will not escape ur parents lifestyle. You've grown up under their roof for about 18 yrs and seen them act the way the act and until puberty, you took that as the way one should act....it's hard to get rid of that..and like Twilochick says....ur mother loves you...love her back
