that's kind of the point...trance, techno, or virtually ANY electronic music has rarely been popular enough (ie. mass marketable enough) for mainstream radio. Euro and freestyle trash is about as close as it gets here...yet you can walk into a friggin' McDonalds in the U.K. and hear trance...mainstream radio here SUCKS ASS!
Prodigy, Crystal Method, Daft Punk...um...that's about all I can think of off the top of my head that I've heard on mainstream radio...it's pretty sad...and you get one or two of their commercial hits, that's it...lame.
I just don't buy the b.s. that there's not a big enough market anywhere in Canada...no one is willing to take the chance, that's all. I find it hard to believe that thousands of people hit clubs every week...yet there's no real radio or tv (don't even mention BPM please) presence for EDM. What's needed is someone with the balls (and $$$) to take a chance and a VERY clever ad dept that can secure sponsors and advertisers who's products would be well received and are relevant to the EDM demographic.
