amazing that people still follow this crap...10th degree black belt... skilled up the wazoo..yet it always reverts to a boxing street fight...if these guys are so skilled and hit so hard, why are they fighting for NO MONEY when they could box for MILLIONS....

Bomb Threat:
90% of all street fights go to the ground.
MMA competition debunked the mcdojo myth of Martial Artists
who held a 10th degree black belt in their respective arts.
It is now about crosstraining today in order to be top notch.
HOw long has boxing been around compared to No Holds BArred
fighting? It will eventually take shape and form, trust me.
We even have boxers like Shannon Briggs and Francois Botha
fighting in K-1 competitions, winning and losing and not
dominating like people expected them. K-1= boxing and kick-
boxing without shoes. Mirko CroCop, the white guy getting
knocked out in the video, was originally a K-1 Champion who
recently decided to try his hand at MMA Fighting. Hes been
on the warpath since, taking apart champions left and right.
He had to learn the ground game extensively in order to
be where hes at in MMA today. (Mixed Martial ARts) YEs,
he did get owned and that just proves that a werstler at
heart like RAndleman, who practices boxing, had a strategy
and a punchers chance going in. You see, he feinted like
he was going to take MIrko down, and Mirko decided to sprawl,
but Randleman went for the left hook instead.
Mike Tyson would get owned 9 out of every 10 times with
a top MMA fighter today. Of course, hed have a significant
punchers chance though.
Royce Gracie would get destroyed by either of these fighters.
Tito Ortiz just got beat down by Chuck Lidell and was proven
to be an above average fighter who only fought those weighing
less than him, since he was able to cut major weight before
competition.

Absolutely shocked by this fight's result. When I first saw the match-up, I was definitely under the impression that PRIDE was feeding Randleman, a fighter in the downside of his carreer IMO, to CroCop to make his resume look better. I guess this why they fight the fights since you never know what may happen.

Absolutely agree. If Tyson were to be taken to the ground, any fighter with a decent ground attack would beat him within 5 minutes.

Gracie's a has-been who's still living off his early UFC fame. The MMA landscape has changed so much since his glory days. You need to be verse in not only grappling but striking as well. He wouldn't have a chance in hell these days. I would love to see Sakaraba take him in PRIDE rules match just to see Gracie get his ass kicked.

Tito was stupid. His ground game is superior to that of Liddell's, but yet he decides to keep it standing which is Chuck's specialty. He lost the fight because his gameplan was just assonine. I truly believe that.

Thanks. I like to think that I am a knowledgable fan of MMA.
I'm a big fan of PRIDE, but I hate the way they insist on booking professional wrestlers on their shows. There are enough MMA fighters crossing over to pro wrestling (Josh Barnett, Don Frye, Kevin Randleman, Mark Coleman). The thing is, I don't need to see a Giant Silva or a Yuji Nagata on a MMA show. I want to see the real fighters. Don't get me wrong, if they have talent that's fine. What I question is when one of these guys do win, you get the argument of the match being a work. I feel it's not fair to the fighters who train their asses off just to have the legitimacy of their sport questioned.
I understand the business aspect of the use of pro wrestlers. They are big money draws in Japan but is worth it if they hurt the integrity of the sport??
Just my 2 cents.
BTW, Botha and Briggs have both pulled out of the K-1 event. I don't what they plan to do. I know Bob Sapp is booked for the show, but I'm not sure he will be able to draw in the States like he does in Japan. I'm definitely intrigued with K-1 will do now.
