Violet Groove presents Breakfast Dallas TX Friday January 2, 2009

INFO:
The USA is still very much behind Europe, when it comes to producing new trance artists, but when a new star is born in the States, then it often turns to be a gem and in the case of Casey Keyworth aka Breakfast, the trance world has been blessed with a kid, who has cranked out hit after hit in the last year. He hasn´t even reached his twentieth birthday, but has already released countless tracks on Ferry Corstens renowned label Flashover.
He quickly went and bought the Homework album from Daft Punk and soon his mom purchased him a computer and the program Fruity Loops. He was young and had much time to dabble around and before he knew it, 2006 was there and he was content with his sound and he started thinking about giving demos to labels. It was perfect timing that his idol Ferry Corsten was DJing in Washington DC. He saved postage and gave him a demo to him. Ferry Corsten contacted him the next day and soon he had his first track signed to the Dutch label Flashover. His first releases were 'The Air Between' and 'River Of Light'. His breakthrough occurred in 2007 with the release of 'Sunlight', which was on countless trance compilations and made him a household name in the trance scene.
Breakfast (Casey Keyworth) was born in Annapolis, Maryland, The United States Of America on July 30th 1988. He started making electronic music at the age of 10. In September 2006 his track 'The Air Between' was released on Ferry Corsten's label 'Flashover Recordings' under his 'Breakfast' alias. In 2007 his track 'The Sunlight' was played by all major jocks around the world! Besides his productions, Casey also did remixes for artists such as Dubfire, The Thrillseekers and Filo & Peri.
BREAKFAST QUOTES:
"Dance music will be changing a lot. The push for a larger scene in the Americas has been in the making and now I am part of this upcoming scene. It's very intense as well as intimidating. I am excited to bring change to the music and new ideas, as well I love seeing new productions with a sharp edge receiving great attention. With the next generation of producers there is going to be a lot of competition as well, not just for producers but as DJs too. This is good and bad, as friendly competition encourages people to move ahead with ideas, but being bad because many people can easily become stressed and not be able to push forward."
"I've always loved DJing. I think building a set is really a unique art, and a lot of people don't understand it. It's a very meticulous process and you have to be careful not to play the wrong song, or people will get frustrated or just confused. DJing really is an art."
"Many people are coming out to the parties and there is a lot of competition between clubs. The competition is good because it allows more genre of dance music to come into the country, not just trance but as well house and progressive styles. The electronic scene has always had a bad reputation in America though for it's heavy drug use, but now more people come to the clubs to dance and they realize that it is a great party. There is a whole land here that could be used for dance music scene!!!"
"Yes of course. Each remix I create I do try to make very unique but still in a similar style of 'Breakfast'. Depending on the song sometimes it is harder to create an individual sound for certain remixes."
