Smile New producer's progressive tune: Skyline - Ocean Blue

Hey everybody,

I've been producing for almost 4 months now, and I'd thought I should post a track for feedback on here

Skyline - Ocean Blue

It reminds me of the ocean and faraway places. Not mastered properly yet, so you may need to turn up the volume a bit.

Comments and suggestions welcome! Thanks

very nice chill-out track

I like the atmosphere of it and all the instruments compliment it well.

I really hate leaving a short comment, but I don't really listen to chill-out trance that much so I wouldn't be able to give a proper review.

Great job on the track, it is very soothing and dreamy.

My suggestions..

IMO you have a bit too much going on with the key progression. Which is ok because in the begining of production I think most have this problem...

My suggestion would be to take about five bars from your melody and set those aside using only those for your mix.. With all the key changes it makes things a bit too complex here. Thus never quite knowing what you are trying to give off. You had it right in the first few chords but when you keep changing things, it gets quite messy.

You have the idea for percussion down. My suggestion would be to tweek them, you have your normal (unless your going for the oldschool 80's keyboard snare / symbols presets). If so.. You can still tweek them to give the same effect but sound much better. Also kill background feedback / clipping in the begining.

Overall keep at it. Pretty good for the time.
