Listening to NewDawn2...
Hmm.. the timing seems to be all over the place in this track! I would open up your samples in an audio editor too if you can, making sure there isn't any dead sound at the beginning of them... the kick sample that plays once at the beginning of each repetition of the melody sounds way too early compared with the other kicks... and the hihats seem out of sync.
Also your kickdrum is really weak... needs to be alot tougher and deeper than it is... try hunting around sample packs on the net for some new ones... a strong main offbeat hihat and a snare/clap wouldn't go amiss too
The bassline I'm personally not too keen on, sounds kinda soft and simple...
To summarise I think it's pretty decent for a first effort.. (ALOT better than mine!) and the melodies as a whole are quite nice, but most of what could be improved, i'd say, could be done so by paying close attention to professional tracks and see how they arrange & structure all their instruments.. and trying to copy them. Not saying all music should be copying pros, but sometimes when learning, it's best to immitate before you innovate, in my opinion
That's all my view though, before someone jumps in saying i'm wrong or whatever, hehe
