What effects do you finalize on your master channel?
I was just wondering what fx you guys place on your "master channel" for your songs when you are finished to finalize it? (compression, reverb, etc..) Or any other techniques you do just to keep everything tight.
And as for compression, how much is recommended?

Just a master limiter to even out the dynamics a bit.

Multiband comp and eq, although I don't put it on the master channel, I do it post mix down. I run a compressor while i make the track on the master channel but only to get an idea of what it all sounds like compressed.

My personal experience tells me not to add any reverb among the master FXs. I use reverb only as single instrument FXs when needed. Otherwise just some compression (very little) and some stereo enhanchement. But I don't know if this is widely used, or just my own personal way to do it.
As mentioned earlier, a slight amount of compression and EQ as well as just a touch of stereo expansion. Possibly some noise/crackle reduction if need be.

So, what do those 2 programs/plugins do?
RubyTube adds sparkle, basically it's an exciter but I like it before I go to Ozone to finish up.
Endorphin is a compressor at heart but it adds a level of beef and character that I really like.
Give them a try matey, they're both freebies.
