if you had the choice of being any trance artist, in any era, any sub-genre of trance, who would it be?
now im talking predominantly artists/composers not full fledged djs (yes, i would of chose Steve Strangis too).
which artist out there has a body of work or list of accomplishments that you wouldn't mind hanging your hat on?
Mine would be:
the Above and Beyond/Oceanlab outfit and the boys from S.H.O.K.K.
both for similar reasons. when i hear any songs from these guys it stirs up such emotion, that im often left pondering how i would exist without trance.
so for an artist to have such an effect on people would be my determining factor in choosing these particular artists.
i know there's gonna be some obvious replies, but if you sincerely believe they deserve your vote, then so be it.

Tiesto of course.
Great producer and remixer. Even though he has coped a bit of slack over the years, he has always been near the top of his game.
How can you go past his work: Kamaya painters, allure, alibi, major league, stray dogs etc. All pure quality trance productions.

no one because id like to try and make something of my own talent, or lack of.
his productions are brilliant! Xpander, Belfunk, the Airdrawndagger album...
and I know that this question was originally in regards to producers, but I can't leave out the djing aspect of Sasha's career. His Global Underground compilations in particular are sublime. I find GU009 and GU013 just as engaging and emotive as the first time I heard them. I certainly wouldn't mind being able to take credit for all that!
And then there's the lifestyle factor. For some strange reason the idea of waking up in a ditch in Ibiza, with a couple of tapes of my set and not much else is quite attractive to me...

Bad luck, i've already shotgunned him. As with the lifestyle factor, the 'IM MEEEELLLLTTING' episode is some of the funniest shit i've heard
