Mmmm... Culture? eh! Yeah, I'm gonna show you the best places in Madrid and surroundings. UnBracko is from Cataluña so I guess he can tell you a lot of things about Barcelona.
NOTE: Be patient, I've linked some heavy pics and it took a bit to download.
City of Madrid
If there's a must-visit site, this is Museo del Prado. You can find more info in english here.

Museo del Prado owns the main masterworks of spanish artists such as Velazquez, Goya, Murillo...

and hosts one of the best flemish and dutch picture collection in the world, with renowed painters like Bosch, Rubens, van Dyck and Brueghel.

It has also a very good collection of italian pics: Titian, Botticelli, Fra Angelico, Tintoretto, Caravaggio,...

Then, you should visit Reina Sofia. It's like Prado but relating to modern art. Info.

You will find greatest modern artists such as Picasso, Dalí, Gris, Miró, Gargallo, Tàpies, Chillida...

You should also visit, by this order:
Palacio Real (Royal Palace):

Jardines de Sabatini: gardens near Palacio Real.

El Retiro: like Central Park, a garden in the middle of the city.

Puerta de Alcalá:

Puerta del Sol

Plaza Mayor: Main square and City Hall.

El Escorial at 50 km from the city...

Atocha Train Station

If you like skyscrappers Madrid is a "short" city, but there's an interesting pair of them:
Torre Picasso

Torres KIO

but the best buildings are the "classic" ones:
Edificio Metrópolis

Ministerio de Agricultura

Edificio de Bellas Artes

Another pics:
Our Parliament:

Any street

Bufff....
A quick look at Avila and Segovia:
Avila

Segovia

El Alcazar

Toledo

Bufff... and that's all (all I can write without become dehydrated). If you need more info... you already know where we are.
