We jusy got finished watching it.... here are my thoughts...
The idea for doing this is great, besides the fact that it fun to see, it helps validify the EDM industry...
parts of it were really great... they has some good shots of people dancing and hanging out, It would have been nice if they had done more of that and less panning of the crowds... neat to see how many people were there, but I think they went a little overboard.
The editing and composition were a bit weak, although this was the first time they tried to capture it, (as far as I know) It didn't flow as well as it could have and thus lost energy and emotion.
The narrator came across as trying too hard, as if he didn't quite know how to communicate the passion of those who are into EDM. We aren't looking for the "coolest" guy on the block, (especially when it comes across as ingenuine), but for someone who understands and feels the way we do about the music. It's personal... and then Buster, during PvD set and others too... He kept talking and taking away from the song that the DJ was spinning. It drove me nuts then, and still did watching the video....
Then there was the, ever elusive, freedom question....not a single one of the people he asked about freedom, answered the question... "what does freedom mean to you"?......they all gave random answers that had very little to do with what freedom meant... to them or anyone else. I was waitng for them to ask Paul van Dyk, seeing that he has actually lived with out freedom. We in America love our freedom, and I hope and pray we never lose it!, but I don't think we can fully understand something that we have never lived without. (and I hope I never have to live with out it!!!)
All in all, I enjoyed bringing back the memories, but I wouldn't buy it again, probably
