Its probably a ploy by the Italians so he can play in tonights match and if the appeal fails his misses the next 3 matches, Wenger and Ferguson do it often in England

That's not very positive of him, what he did to the danish player Poulsen, he should have been kicked from the Euro. He is lucky he is italian, if he were e.g. from croatia - he would have gone home

But Italy can manage without him, they have Vieri who can score in every second of the game.

I don't think someone should be sent home for spitting while someone else might break someone's leg and only get a 3 match ban.

If I were to send him home it would be for that horrible tackle and the spitting incident (two separate bans totalling 5 matches).
