anyone knows how to stop msn popping out flashing stuff in the taskbar everytime someone comes to talk to you? it's annoying as hell, and i can't disable it in the preferences.

i've been told it's probably a windows thing, not a msn thing, all i found in google was some obscure details about the registry but no real instructions to how to disable that thing

help please. thanks

I belive theres a setting in Tweak UI (freebie from ms, do a search on their site) that has a setting preventing a application from flashing the taskbar, but i dont have a copy to hand so i cant check

nice tip.. but that seems to work only in enlgish language versions of windows :\

Ive just downloaded Tweak UI and the option i was thinking of is there, its a shame it only supports english language though.

could you not try changing the reginal setting to us-english (reginonal settings are in controll pannel) run tweakui then change the regional setting back to its original setting?

at once I set my MSNGR status to 'busy', it stops its annoying flash stuff, though my win is a norwegian one
