MIDI controller keyboard in your studio

How many people here use a MIDI controller keyboard instead of their synth keyboards. For example, a controller keyboard to control synths that already have keyboards, like a supernova, virus kc etc.

This sounds appealing because the controller keyboard is narrower than the synths themselves, and easier to fit in front of you (in front of the mixer). It does cost an extra few hundred dollars though.

Any thoughts ?

I don't know if you have synths already or what, but if you don't, you might want to think about buying rackmount/desktop versions instead, that way you would save alot more AND you save a couple (or more) hundred bucks by not buying a keyboard on everything.

And yeah, using another midi keyboard is a perfectly viable solution.
