Electric Shocks

I have a pioneer djm-600 and im getting electric shocks when i touch any of the switches on it. could this have anything to do with feedback or is the mixer itself damaged? Either way... HELP PLZ!!

Sounds like some kind of grounding problem. I would definitely get that checked out

i dont think theres anything wrong with the mixer itself. its only abt 8 months old and is well looked after. i've been using my PC to host Final Scratch (my decks sit right beside it) but i got a shelf installed to sit above the decks for my laptop. so FS is now runnin on my laptop. and thats exactly when it started. (the shocks) can u buy a standard grounding wire coz i think i lost the one stanton ships with FS? :-S

this sounds like a bad problem... every part of the mixer you can touch should not be in contact with anything that could make it conductive. by law it should be double insulated. i would definately recomend getting it checked out by an expert as this could become dangerous to you.

this is of course unless ivetaken this the wrong way. im taking it from the point of view of an electronic engineer and switches should NEVER conduct electricity (well not to the part you touch).

if you want to try grounding it any 2amp single core wire is probaly enough (but i dont know the exactt currants and things running so i might be wrong).

Ya sounds like the mixer is broke. If you are going to add a ground wire, be sure to make it green

I have had the same problem with my mixer (not a DJM though). When I looked for the problem, it seemed that the grounding inside my plug wasn't connected to the yellow/green groud wire. I conntected them and I haven't had the problem since. Check your electricity connections.
