I suppose it depends on what you'll use them for. Will they will be your main speakers for dj versus part of a Dolby/DTS system? I think that they would personally (given Klipsch's reputation as a company) be better as part of a Home Theater System. One of the best semi-affordable (depending on what your Dj eq is worth) is the Alesis M1 Active (link) . These babies are very sweet and are designed specifically for listening to music that is being recorded/mastered etc. in the music industry.

Also, if you are in the market, THESE are really nice for your computer surround.

Though if you are on a cash crunch, cause the M1s are like $400 or so, as are the computer speakers, the Monitor 1 MKII (freakishly named like the technics!) are $200 just like the klipsch speakers.

Anyway, I would recommend Klipsch for HTS and Alesis for Dj monitors.

i use the rb-5II for my monitors becuase i got into speaker systems before i got into spinning.

they are great speakers and they could double as your monitors but if you want to use it for monitors only i would suggest that you get real monitors. the klipsch spakers sound great but they are not as flat and honest as i would like them to be. they sound great for normal listening though.

i have heard the powered alesis speakers and they sound great. i would get thouse but since im not in a studio or anything and i already have nice speakers...id rather spend the moneyh onr records : P
