Rane Rotary mixer...

I have a question about the Rane Rotary mixer...I take it has no split cue function...is there anyway to cue multiple channels though?
I'm just trying to gather if there is any way whatsoever to cue and beatmatch and not have to use the one ear method...

its my opinion that a dj firsts learns on just 1 ear / 1 track cueing before anything else......once that is mastered then its ok to try split cues and othe stuff like that.....

this way regardless what kinda mixer u play on u have no problem....

IMO

I own a Rane 2016 MP + XP and I can confirm that you can only monitor one channel at a time. This totally freaked me out too since I was cheating before. If fact you can even read my post about a year back:
http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=....com%26rnum%3D1

So I gotta tell you not to fear the Rane 2016. It will take you a little time to learn the proper way to cue but once you are there you are going to be better off.

I can't explain how much I love this mixer. Lots of people will hate on it and say this and that but going from a DJM-600 to Rane 2016 was a massive upgrade in my eyes. The Rane is a very raw mixer, which I like. There are no bells and whistles at all. But if you can mix on the Rane 2016 you will be able to mix on anything.

If you got the cash go for it. I was able to get the MP & XP for $1500 new at Platinum Records in Seattle. I assume they can do the same deal today:

Take care!

Keith

Yes you owe it to me, now give me MY mixer.

Anyway, you are definately better off learning the one ear method, you will become a better DJ, and you will enjoy it more, crazy as that sounds.

I really wanna try a roto mixer, I never use the xfader, and I think I could make SUPER SMOOTH transitions with rotarys, although I would like a switch with an option to go back and forth from rotary control and fader control, it would make those fast volume drops now and then easier, has anyone tried doing fast drops with a rotary?, I can't see you could be as fast as a fader.
