Dunno Should I Start Spinning???

Well my B Day is coming up and I was wanting to get some turntables and start spinning but I just don't know whether I would stick to it, I've done it at my friend's house and I kind of wanted to spin after that but I'm still having doubts because it is a pretty expensive hobby, if I should then what turntables should I get? because I've been itching to get some Technics 1200, because there are sometimes some cheap ones on ebay.
oh and
is there anyone here who has started spinning and then dropped it?

depends on what you wanna do.

Do you wanna be a club dj?

DO you wanna be a bedroom dj?

do you just wanna spin at friend's parties...

do you wanna be famous.

sounds like you shouldn't start if are questioning it already. It is expensive if you go the vinyl route. You could always get cd decks and just spin burnt cds...its a bit cheaper.

I think the cost alone will make you stick with it... In my case I spent a ton of money on my set up, and sort of lost intrest in it about 5 months after getting my tables... but then i thought about how much it cost and started getting back into it... and now i cant get enough of djing, it really awesome and fun even tho im just in my bedroom.

well, I'm not really expecting anything from it, I'm not saying I want to be famous because that is beyond my grasp, I just want to learn how to spin at home and get better at it and you know spin at some parties if someone asks me to, and if I get good enough to get invited to spin at a club that would be great too.

Then just get techs, I say. You can resell them for very close to what you bought them for, especially if they're new.

ASOT100 hit it right on the button. When you first get tables, everyone sux and starts to lose interest cuz its frusterating and hard at first. But eventually you get better, or you make your first sweet mix and then you just wanna get better and better. The key is buying new records. It keeps you interested and its like christmas everytime you get new vinyls.

Why's it lame? A lot of places use CD Decks these days.
