i really like this music. there is something about it that is very different, but in a good way.

it's like the musical structures are more complex and interrelated, but while still following a formula that is recognizable (maybe cuz of the arpeggiation)..

as for technical stuff, it sounds a tiny bit 'washed out' and there seems like there is some white noise going on in the background the whole time... i think it's one of the synths, but it's messing up the signal to noise ratio and hindering the clarity that you could be getting with this.

i would also raise the kick volume some and maybe work on the kick sample adding some more low sub frequencies from another kick to it.

it sounded full, so i don't think more elements are necessary except for maybe some high frequency percussion like hi hats and whatnot.. especially when the breakbeat comes in, having some high percussions going on would help to make it 'gel' instead of sounding as random (but that's only during the break.. percs elsewhere would probably be good too, but that was the only place where i really felt it was lackign something).

overall it's good. i'd like to hear some more stuff you have made.

peace,
-rob

Thanks Rob, thats probably the best feedback I've ever had.

I must be doing something right

You were right about the noise, one of the pads had a noise element which was too much! Taking this out has made the track clearer, thanx.

But would anyone like to put this in a genre, cause I aint got a clue

Chilly if you ask me and very dreamy .
1 - The kick is weak and powerless.
2 - Some vaiation is needed.
3 - The whole track sounds abit muddy or overcompressed for some reason.

Nice ideas, good effort . Keep it up.

Thanks for the comments.

I Have remixed the track again. Better EQ on the Kick, I think its an improvement. The overall EQ has been played with. I think it gives better seperation, not so muddy.

Feedback still apreciated

New Sunrise

For those who are interested this was produced using Cubase 5 with a mixture of hardware synths and VSTi's. I think I've been working on it for about 4 weeks.
