generaly i like to have some vocal in my tracks.. so i derive the title from what's spoken/sung or what it implies..

Turn out the lights, close your eyes, crank your track, and listen over and over. Whatever images come to your mind should be good grounds for a title. Pay attention to the flow of your track, and try to forget your intentions and just listen for what is there.

Personally I like to think of just random stuff.

100 times out of 100 totally radom letters , numbers, or symbols....as long as it doesn't say (pattern 58..pattern 59) and so on so i can see what it when i quickly bring it up i dont give a shit, actually if i give it a proper name and i read it above the song i end up hating the song and not playing it because it suddenly sounds cheesy and gay once i give it a name....Fh78**> works fine for me...

Just call it something that fits the tune, if its dirty, call it a dirty name, if its all floaty and swishy call it something which relates to that. For example i always thought a good name for a swishy trance tune would be laputa, it means floating island in the sky. Or something dirty, anything with the word slut in, or whatever.

I used to have huge troubles picking names for my tunes, so I usually ended up doing some sort of word plays or just completely random titles (I even picked a title from a Pokemon character once!).

Now I usually have my titles ready even before I've started on the tune... That's because I build my tunes around a theme - I hate tracks that are completely meaningless.

I totally agree! There are so many tracks wich couldn't have gotten a better title than the producer gave them.

Examples:

Robert Nickson - Spiral
Nu- Nrg - Dreamland
Mirco de Govia - Epic Monolith

and many, many more!

Just listen to your track and try to understand what your track is visualizing!

Cheers!

OH AINT IT THE TRUTH! It bugs me that most of you pick RANDOM names. For cryin' out loud..doesn't your song deserve an appropriate name...even if it only has meaning to you...it should have some sort of "theme" or idea thats presented in the motif of your music.

'La puta' means 'the slut' in spanish.
