yea, they're pretty good. I saw them live in Vancouver last year.
Most of the weird sound effects on the latest album are actually Alison Goldfrapp singing. Her voice gets really warped - kind of freaky to watch her live and hear the sounds.
i don't really know much about them...i've just recently heard some songs by them
Strict Machine
Train
Twist
and they are all fucking awesome. i just really like their style. anything you might suggest?

Goldfrapp is more into trip hop.Something like portishead, lamb. They do more pop/rock kinda stuff in their latest album though.
Listen to their best album- felt mountain.
Lots of trippy james bond kind of tunes.

I like it-- it's very trippy and in some sense reminds me of Massive Attack.

I think Goldfrapp are really cool. First album was a despressed chillout album, and a really good one too. The second album surprisingly sounded electronic glamrock, in a good way.
Since you like Strict Machine, Train & Twist I recomend you get the album (Black Cherry). I also recomend, for all true proggers, to check Victor Calderone's remix of Strict Machine, I'm loving it these days.

*raises hand*
Felt Mountain was a gorgeous album, strangely melancholic and distant yet very warm and emotional at the same time. Still not gotten Black Cherry which is more electroclash influenced from what I've heard of it.
And don't you lot know that big beat and trip hop are swear words in 2004? Tsk Tsk
