Xone 92 vs Rane MP 2016 + XP 2016

Enjoying my day off of work today and was just wondering which of these two 'dream' mixers you'd prefer....

The Xone 92

VS

Rane MP 2016 with the XP add on....

They add up to roughly the same cost new, each are different in their own way but from what I've been reading & hearing live are two of the best sounding mixers on the market....

Please no comments like "get Pioneer or Urei". Yeah Urei's are great but no longer available and Pioneer aren't imo the best sounding mixers (although good to get used to as they are a club standard at places that don't use A & H or Rane)....

I like the Xone 92's MIDI capabilities, something that the Rane doesn't have available..... Do you think the 92 is as good as the 62 dollar for dollar?

Let's get this thread rolling....

if u really like working with knobs the rane is nicer(don'y like the knobs on 92) but the 92 sounds better and definately better low end IMO....both are constructed very well....u have the midi/filters on the 92 which is a plus if u will use them.......

either way u prolle can't wrong

i would buy a 62 before the 92 if u don't use the crossfader...i found a noticable dip on a 62 i had ......where the 92 has fully adjustable curve....i think the 62 is better for the money

What do you think of the filters on the Xone 92? One of the guys on my site who tested it out for NAMM (lucky mate got to keep one for free after the show) told me he likes the filters on the 92 a lot more than the 62 ones...

Have you tried Ableton Live on the 92 yet? Saw Richie Hawtin use it this weekend with two Powerbooks, and 3 decks, was amazing to say the least....

Not really seeing as the V6 is 3 times the price of the 2016... You can get a 92 that's rotary for a little more.....

Not sure myself right now if most people are just letting the hype help justify the 92... I'm wondering if it truly is a more solid and priceworthy mixer than the tried and tested 62...

Has anyone seen the new Crest Audio Rotary Mixer? the mixer looks very saweeeeeeeeeeeetttttttttttt....

Crest Audio CP6210 6channel - Classic DJ Mixer

A complete, expandable music mixing system designed for DJs and production experts, the CP-6210 / 6220 are equally at home in bars , restaurant lounges or remixers’ studios. They look like we stole the knobs of your Aunt Minnie’s old Admiral™ television. But inside is state-of-the-art Crest Audio circuit design. Both the CP-6210 and 6220 are truly studio quality in every respect with clean, direct signal paths and less-is-more ergonomics.

Impressed? Don Was is. Of all the rotary-style mixers on the market today, legendary, Grammy-winning producer Don Was chose the Crest Performance CP-6210 and CP-6220 expander. Why? The right feature set and a suh-weet, altogether non-digital sound.

From the recording studio to the karaoke lounge. You don’t have to be a re-mixer to appreciate this system. The basic CP-6210 music mixer is perfect for restaurant lounges and bars thanks to its simple, intuitive operation. Even a part-time bartender can understand the rotary volume controls and source selection knobs — just like a home receiver…duh! The staff can mix background music, jukebox and satellite television — plus a microphone for paging. And they can have different volume levels in separate zones such as a bar and dining room. Come evening, the CP-6210 becomes a karaoke mixer withtwo mic inputs and loads of aux inputs for CD players and VCR or DVD audio.

Features:
Six mono input channels
Four phono/line inputs
Two mic/line inputs
Five aux inputs with level controls, selectable from all channel strips
LED channel indicators
4-band program EQ
Separate House, Booth and Headphone output level -controls
Effects loop with Bypass switch
Cue Source selector
Stereo and mono House outputs with balanced XLR and unbalanced RCA connectors
Stereo and mono Booth outputs with ground-compensated TRS and unbalanced RCA connectors
Pre- /post-effects Tape outputs
Channel 5 and 6 inputs have rear-panel low and high EQ, -input level controls and mic/line level switches

the XP Unit:CP-6220 Cross-Fader/EQ/Hampster/Metering Expander/

Ready to dance? Add the CP-6220 expander. It has everything your DJ needs including multiple turn-table and CD inputs, DJ-style EQ, variable cross-fade contour and complete metering. The replacable cross-fader is voltage-controlled which means no actual audio goes through its mechanical parts. That means clean sound even after thousands of nights of hard use.

Loaded with extras no matter what you use them for. Compare rotary mixers and you’ll discover that the CP Series has more for less. You get stereo and mono Booth and House outputs, extra bass and treble EQ on mic channels, mic channel input level controls with an insane amount of gain (+55dB) for timid karaoke singers, trim controls on all five aux inputs and sophisticated continuously variable cross fader contour on the CP-6220.

Features:
Connects to CP-6210 via -ribbon cable — no line cord required
Six channels of DJ-style EQ with 12dB total cut and 6dB boost
A/B/Program switch on each channel
Field-replacable, voltage--controlled cross-fader
Continuously variable cross-fade shape instead of just a 3-position switch
A/B Swap (Hampster)
Separate stereo LED ladders for CP-6210 Cue Mix, A Mix, B Mix and Program Mix

Both Units are cheaper than Rane 2016+XP2016. Crest Audio mixer was released earlier this year. I'd be choosing between Crest Audio and Xone 092Rotary.

Cheers...
