Have you ever taken a break from Clubbing -- but still followed the Music ?

Was just curious if anyone else has taken a prolonged break from clubbing but still continued to follow the music. I've been out of the club scene for about 6 months now and although it's been difficult to read reviews of great parties without feeling a tinge of envy i have to say, it's brought me closer to the music. As much as i miss the floor, it came to a point where the club experience had completely saturated me, and a clean break was required to put things back into prespective. Anyone else had similar thoughts or experiences ?

i took a huge break for about half a year, and still religously followed the music. had to get my priorities in line. it's also nice to find out you still like the music the most, and not the other things that come with the scene

and now that i got everything straightened out, i have been soaking up what toronto has in store for the summer!

i remember pulling loads of all-nighters working on programming assignments.. specifically a database assign. which occured during global dj broadcast of wmc.. ahh, that matt darey set has a place in my brain, alongside all the sql commands i pounded out

All the time, I at least take one or 2 weeks out for myself a month and make sure I am up on what is hot, who is playing where, all genres, and if it is worth it to go!

If you LOVE MUSIC, normally you know what is going on!

Peace

i've been on a 6 month hiatus myself. i forgot how to get to toronto actually...

but i'm still on top of the music however.

every week listening to ASOt and GDJB, not to mention all the e-mixes..

TA's tracklistsing forums helps you keep on top quite a bit tho

i had to take a break from clubbing after my montreal NYE experience. partying has not been the same since. i stayed away from the clubs for a couple months and i have not been back in the same capacity and there are certain aspects of going out that have not really returned for me at all, at this point.

at this point, i'm kind of bored of the scene,as great of a thing we have going on in TO, I just don't feel the same sense of excitment that i used to- seeing danny t was pretty cool and it did change things up for me for sure..but for the most part, i'm looking for a new adventure. the music is not tired for me, but the scene can be a bit much, and i think when it gets that way a break is required, it helps one appreciate what they have.

so far this year there have been no breaks lol...i've been hitting almost every event i can and last nite i decided to stay in from clubs and friends just casue i needed a nite to wind down for myself. some of the highlights this year have been Ferry Corsten, Rank 1, Scott Bond completely blew away all my expectations, and Johan Gielen was just suberb a few weeks ago!

Last year i hit a few events but not as much...of the top of my head i remember going to Marco V, Above & Beyond and Mauro Picotto...a&b are great, but i'd love to see them in a larger venue!!! As for extended breaks...lets go with the summer of 2002 when my friends were so damn boring and we never went to anything

Never been able to. Even with living an hour outside of the city.
