The beginning of music....

So I was just sitting here, drinking my drink, smoking my weed, and eating a muffin thingy, when I just thought, where and when did music come about, I mean music like something that has some kind of rhythm, was it back in the caveman years, or was it earier or later than that?

Africa. Tribal chants and dances. Eventually led to first drums.

thats kinda trippy..arched, subhuman, hairy, beasts poundin out beats..imagine if they had trance all the way back then..forget the errors that creates (computers, synths, turntables etc) ...i wonder what will happen with EDM in 1000 years..what will the sounds be like? imagine how it was in like 1975 all the way up to now..theres such a massive change its fucking unbelivable.

I dont think there can be such a definite answer, with so many indigenous communities throughout the globe, i'm sure many had forms of music, not just those in Africa

music is an ultimate form of expression. it dosent have to restrict itself to a nation. the form of expression may vary from race to race and is influnced by geography. music today is the summision of music from all over the world. music at the begining was all that is now ,but not yet manifested to what it is today. i think with music it is the form that is important. music can take various names and forms. in conclusion music came when humans came.

I 110% agree with that.

I would also have to agree that it does sound like it would of came from Africa, I mean thats when man first came about, so its highly likely that music started there.

the beats of EDM can be tranced to africa. But the melodies come from imo the late 17th centry early 18th century of time of classical music. Listen to any clssical music comp. and its just like a trance song expect without the beats. Think of opera as the vocal trance. With time trance will become a much more deeper and emotional music like classical and opera was in the time of mozart and bach.EDM will become a global music form that can communicate with many; i see the day when EDM is presnt in all of music. The beauty in trance is that the instruments to create such sounds are electronic and progess with the improvemetns made in techonolgy. So as time passes and technology improves so will EDM. But its origin or heart will also come from the classical era. A intresting dicotomy of old( classical influences) and new ( technology)
