Hardtrance- evolving a bit?
IS it just me or is the big big riff, slightly cheezy hardtrance that peaked about last year changing? One good examPLe is Cosmin Gate..going in a kind of techy/tuff proggy direction..
Ive been hearing more and more of this..
Maybe this is just the Australian fashion changing...or perhaps its worldwide...
Like I know Marco V etc have been rokin' for ages (duh) but is this sound getting more wide acceptance?
Or am I just blabbering on about what has been tech-trance for the last 2-3 years?
oh and more track examPLes would be great.

I'm not convinced yet. Last year was absolutly horrid regarding Hard Trance. There are some indications that it's picking up again but I'm still a bit sceptical...

Marcel Woods and S.H.O.K.K.'s collaboration was good news to me. Also the tech-influence is finally catching on. Oliver Klitzing being a prime example. Dj Simple is intersting, especially with his "Complicated" track but also with his various remixes.
Sander van Doorn/Sam Sharp stuff sells very well these days as well.. trance splits in proggy stuff and techier stuff...
big riff boombastic stuff is losin' it (for the moment), but that will evolve back undoubtedly in some time

True, that techy/proggy sound is doing the rounds quite well right now. However I usually don't think it's really hard enough to be hard trance but then again it aint exactly melodic. Either way, it's good stuff

erm, its more like cosmic gate have stopped making "hard trance" rather than it changing.
i think when shokk and flutlicht came about their stuff was different but then the flutlicht projected changed into a more "just trance" style, and you wouldnt say that hard trance changed into that then, i think its the same here.

Where the hell are you getting that from? There was loads of excellent hard trance out last year, from BK, Guyver and Lee Haslam among others.
