A quick step-by-step:

Go in the Step Sequencer and right click any sound channel (1).
Chosse Add -> Superwave p8. If its not on the list, choose "More...", then u will see a list of plugins. Press the refresh button to detect it, and it should be inserted on the list, just check the box next to it to make it available to use (the superwave p8 plugin DLL file should be on the FL Studio vst plugin folder in order to be detected. Or go to Options -> File Settings -> VST Plugins extra search folder, and choose a folder where u want to store your plugins)
Now that the plugin is placed on the sequencer, change its FX track (2), put it on an empty track. If u hav your mixer open, u will se the mixer track auto-scrolling when u select it (3).
Now, put on that track u did choose all the effects u want on the sound, using the effects menu (4). No details about the FX, u will hav to research which u need for the sound u want. Most were explained here lots of times, try doin a search. For a quick help, if u want that common supersaw lead sound u will mostly use equalizer, reverb and delay mainly.
When u r fine with the sound, right click the superwave sound channel and choose "Piano Roll". Do your melody there. U can come back to the Piano Roll by clicking on its display (5)
Hope this can help u gettin started.
