Shock and awe and dating Volume #4:
the death of Bosa, the birth of Cosa

Dr. Bosa is dead, in his place is Dr. Cosa, because i make the ladies go "Dr. Whut???"

a chance encounter with a woman i had the good fortune to date once long long ago led me into yet another delightfully awkward but nonetheless exciting adventure.

It was Eglington station, as i stepped on the crowded platform coffe and Metro in hand i took my place among toronto's finest, our destination: downtown- the brain trust of this fair city.

As i left the train i noticed this stunning creature and took fate by the horns, instead of ignoring her and awkwardly hoping she would notice me I turned to greet her, so many months after our ill fated evening. It was our summer encounter about one year ago which provided the much needed fodder for my adventure entitled: Shock and Awe and Dating Volume #1:

lets continue the saga.....

There i stood, discussing in a most casual yet desisive fashion the weather, good books, work and friends. It was rather enjoyable if not for the embers burning inside my stomach, like Marines they sat waiting ready to pounce, thirsty for action. I cast all good sense aside and asked for her phone #.... just as i did one year ago to no avail. After what seemed like an entire 2 minutes, (but was in fact closer to 3) she began to give her number while staring oddly about the room.

After punching her digits in my phone, she began to back away from me, looking at her watch to say "man im really late" though her watch appeared to be more of a bracelet than any time-telling device, but who was i to question or even prolong this delightfully awkward and intenstly uncomfortable moment?

Dr. Cosa thats who. I was the shock to her awe.

I fancied myself captain of special teams for awkward moments both on and off the feild.

"Cosa" the coach would say, "get in there and keep this awkward streak alive..."

The good soldier i was I inquired as to her dating status, wondering out loud how many boy-friends she has, reminicsant of those uncles that love asking such things of young children. I soon realized she caught me making sideway glances at her boobs a few times. And by a few i mean 13.
(A nice bakers dozen no doubt!!)

Amidst the hisses and boos from her many coworkers who were now assembled at the coffee stall, I used the last ounces of my new found strength and gestured to say goodbye, wondering aloud as we parted ways if i would ever see her again...... the faint cry as the distance between us grew appeared to sound like: "not a fucking chance"......

Never stopping to look behind me, I hit Front Street that morning, late for work guns ablaze, instead of high-stepping past the Royal York in my usual manner, I just leaned back.
