Parties in Norway/ Iceland

I'm going to be traveling to Norway and Iceland on July 19 to September 3. Are there going to be any raves or parties in any of these two places I should be planning on going to? Any nice places to visit? Thanks.

Sasha will be in Iceland on 1st of August. He'll be dj'ing @ Nasa.

We lost our main club this weekend (turned into a pop place), but word on the street says that 2 others will be focusing on dance music in the near future. I'm hoping that's true.

Anyway, if you have dates on when you'll be in Iceland I can probably dig something up.

I'm arriving on August 12 and leave on the 19th at Seydisfjordur by ferry. I think I'm gonna take the bus to Reykjavik but from what I understand it's like a two-day trip. Is there any other faster way of doing this trip? And thanks for the reply,

No trip in Iceland takes more than a day, at least as far as I know (small country). I think there is a posibility that you could catch a flight, but that would be more expensive.
It's imposible to find out if there's anything happening while you are in Reykjavik now, but you are welcome to send me a message before you come and I'll probably know more. Word on the street says that Deep Dish might posibly be playing while you are in Iceland, but it hasn't been confirmed.

I will be in Oslo at october 7 till 10.

What will be a good place to go out if you like trance music? I read about a club called Café d'Opera, but their website is offline at the moment? Is this a good club?

What about Smuget or Baronen og Baronessen (I also read about these ones)?

I know some clubs or parties are being discussed on this forum but I can't read Norwegian :-)

Thanks in advance

All you'll find in Oslo is prog/house 90% of the time, the rest is drum n bass/techno. Trance is dead clubwise in Oslo with a few exceptions, and they are not happening in the period you're staying there.

Thanks Sand Leaper

What are the better prog/house clubs in Oslo?
Can you say something about the clubs I mentioned?

Cafe d'Opera is closed - finito - but a new venue @ same location, Shu Club (20+ ID)- ok place - 1st floor = chill out, 2nd floor = rnb/vocal house/various house, 3rd floor = mainly vocal house/funky house/disco/etc - the place is a "gay club", but don't let that scare you, the atmosphere is good, and you don't have anything to fear to say it like that.. the ppl there don't bite

Smuget (20+ ID - they say 24-25 if you don't dress good) is more like a pub/bar - lot's of norways more "famous" ppl (tv celeb/etc) comes here - very expensive, not worth it imo - except for when they sometimes got some good standup shows, but i don't think you come to oslo for watching norwegian standup

Baronen & Baronessen (20+ ID) - never been here before, and don't really know any ppl who got anything useful to say about the place - all i know is that one of their bouncers got shot outside some years ago by some freak hehe, anyways, i don't think they play house/edm

but when you're here, you can check out Sikamekanico (20+ ID) - usually house/dnb/prog/b.beats etc, and sometimes Barbeint (20+ ID) also got some good parties.

i recommend you to check out this site - usually all the parties in town are listed there, or you can check out this page too too, but usually parties don't get listen until some weeks before the date - so it's still early to find parties for the specific date you're here

hope this helped a bit
