i'm not sure how the other members are going to respond to this , but
vinyl is the clearest sound you can get, but if your able to find out the kbps of any clear sounding vinyl then you can get source forge 6.0 and open the mp3 file and resave it as the same thing but with a higher quality. and it should sound ok on a club system, i'm kinda in the same boat as you are with the song i'm currently looking for (mario lopez the sound of nature plug'n'play remix)
so i might just have to burn it and get a cdj and use it like that.

dartman: I'm asking this, so if I can get a good copy, I know what I can do to play it out and about, believe me, I ain't looking to have it and not pay anything, the only label that had it, I offord them hundreds to make another copy and ship it to me, but they declined my offer, if I find it anywhere, you can bet your ass I'll buy it.
DJ Jem: I hear what your saying about the bitrate thing, it should work.
Oh and nobody should get annoyed by this post since like I said, I seem to not have any options on this, except browsing Ebay now and then for it.

IMO, if you _CAN'T_ get your hands on a copy to buy, then by all means, use it some other way. big names do it, why can't you? (yup, they do, PQM himself said when he produced "You Are Sleeping" and gave a CD-R to someone with it, suddenly, every DJ from the local jock to Paul Oakenfold was playing it, yet it had not been released)

I was wondering, if you want a track and you can't get it anywhere, not even on CD, do you think its ok to get a good copy from someone for you to use at home, and what could you do for being able to play this track in a club.
I ask this since there are afew tracks I want, and you can't buy them anywhere, I've contacted the labels and asked for a re-press, even if it costs hundreds, but I can't get it anywhere. |
Technical issues aside, parhaps your biggest concern would be the Performing Rights Organizations. The laws say that the publishing companies are due royalties every time their work is performed. This includes music played in Clubs. I don't know how far they would go to enforce this.
The truth is, even if you play the track in the club every day for the next 10 years, it would cost more to go after you than the money the publishing company would be due. So.... "Turn it up"
