Im talking about the Nintendo Entertainment System's (NES) US release of this game.
Of course, its easiest if you use a combination of all 4 to win, and some boards are not beatable without Luigi or Princess (or Game Genie), but which is your favorite playable Mario 2 character?

princess is teh sexy and can hover like said before! she's definately the best in this game IMO! luigi coming in second! but they are the most uninteresting charecters too IMO! toad & mario are way cooler
princess shes teh cute.. and she can fly a bit, loads easyer

I thought it was better than the original, just a hair behind Mario 3. It gave a different game and perspective to the regular Mario game play by allowing you to change characters and pick up objects/enemies.
Some people just dont like change...
